Community Involvement
Since Christ’s Church for Brooklyn began meeting in the winter of 2005, we have sought to be an active and thoughtful community of believers. As it says in our mission statement, we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ to this community, this city, this nation, this world by sharing ourselves and what we have just as Christ himself has done. We have sought to do this through service, and contribution, and by expanding our knowledge about the World and its people.
On different occasions we took up collections for an organization called Chance for Children which serves under-privileged children and families of Brooklyn. We supported the construction of a new church in Monterrey, Mexico. We traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in a call to action for the president and other government officials to speak publicly and truthfully about the genocide occurring in Darfur.

We, the members of Christ’s Church for Brooklyn, are so fortunate to be a part of a community as diverse as Brooklyn, where there are so many faces to be seen and so many voices to be heard. We hope to become an active part of this, and we invite you to do the same. If you are someone looking for ways to serve this community in innovative ways, we invite you to join us. If you are someone who sees the needs of people often invisible to the rest of society, we hope that you will join us and help us see these needs too. Whether or not you are looking to become a member of this community of faith, we invite you to be a member of this community of service.
