Community Involvement

Making a Difference in our Community

Since Christ’s Church for Brooklyn began meeting in the winter of 2004, we have sought to be an active and thoughtful community of believers. As it says in our mission statement, we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ to this community, this city, this nation, this world by sharing ourselves and what we have just as Christ himself has done. We have sought to do this through service, contribution, and by expanding our knowledge about the world and its people.

In addition to various service projects and special collections taken up through out the year, we have each year taken part in the annual NYC HOPE Count, working to make an accurate count of people who are homeless and living on the street on a given night in New York City.  And every year we also look forward to participating in MS Walk and the AIDS Walk of New York City, supporting treatment and research efforts on behalf of people suffering from these diseases.

We, the members of Christ’s Church for Brooklyn, are so fortunate to be a part of a community as diverse as Brooklyn, where there are so many faces to be seen and so many voices to be heard.

If you are someone looking for ways to serve this community, we invite you to join us. If you are someone who sees the needs of people often invisible to the rest of society, we hope that you will join us and help us see these needs too. Whether or not you are looking to become a member of this community of faith, we invite you to be a member of this community of service.
