About
Christ’s Church for Brooklyn
An Open and Affirming Community for Everyone
Services at Christ’s Church for Brooklyn generally begin with this welcome:
Welcome to Christ’s Church for Brooklyn! Welcome to all who have no church home, need strength, want to follow Christ, have doubts, or do not believe. Welcome to new visitors and to old friends. Welcome to grandparents, to mothers, fathers, and single people. Welcome to people of all colors, cultures, abilities, and sexual orientations, to old and young, to believers and questioners – and welcome to questioning believers.
Welcome to everyone! Today we are all invited to live into God’s love, peace, and justice.
Christ’s Church for Brooklyn (CCfB) believes God has created us to live in community rather than isolation, and so our community seeks to be welcoming to all who enter our doors. We are dedicated to creating a community of faith that is affirming of the talents, lives, and relationships of all our members – including people of different races and ethnicities, socioeconomic status, gender and sexual orientation. We seek to embody the diversity of God’s people and to celebrate that diversity and the beauty of God’s creation. We seek to be an example of God’s love, peace, and justice in the lives of our membership and our surrounding community.
With the help of God’s Spirit, we desire to be a community that is honest with God and others, committed to following Christ’s example of servanthood. We realize that people of deep faith can, at times, come to divergent beliefs on certain issues. We don’t expect full agreement on all things. As we grow together, we enjoy learning from our differing perspectives as we listen for God’s voice.
We welcome people from all spheres of life to join us on this journey to become whole people of God.
